Death powerfully jars our concept of the way life is supposed to be. That dissonance is multiplied when the death is by suicide. When Critical Incident Response consultants are called to serve in the aftermath of suicide they face a shaken group of individuals — shocked, grieving, angry, confused, and self-blaming. That population will also include people whose personal struggles already leave them vulnerable and who now face increased risk for destructive behavior, including another suicide. Tragedy can beget additional tragedies. This webinar discussion will address recommended postvention practices proven effective to mitigate that negative momentum.
During the virtual session we will be breaking out into groups which will allow opportunity for greater discussion as well as to share different ideas/experiences with one another.
